Eleanor Turnbull

Eleanor Turnbull (she/they) is a sculptor and gardener based in West Cornwall, UK. Drawn to the rural landscapes she grew up around, Eleanor uses experimental mouldmaking techniques to copy sections of the land.

Carefully replicating tide-pools, potholes, puddles and mounds, Eleanor reimagines the bodyless landscape through material and form. The landscape becomes a terran in which to explore the unfathomable body, its psyche and our complicated attachment to the land.

Eleanor recently completed an MFA in Fine Art from The Slade School of Fine Art, London (2022) and upon graduatin, was awarded the Sarabande Emerging Artist Fund (2022). They’ve exhibited and undertaken residencies nationally and internationally. Most recently, Eleanor was awarded the 20th Solo Residency at Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop, London, culminating in their first Solo show in the UK (2022). Full CV available on request.
