Eleanor Turnbull

Eleanor Turnbull (she/they) is a sculptor and gardener based in West Cornwall, UK. Drawn to the rural landscapes she grew up around, Eleanor uses experimental mouldmaking techniques to copy sections of the land.

Carefully replicating tide-pools, potholes, puddles and mounds, Eleanor reimagines the bodyless landscape through material and form. The landscape becomes a terran in which to explore the unfathomable body, its psyche and our complicated attachment to the land.

Eleanor trained in London at The Slade School of Fine Art (MFA, 2022), and Central Saint Martins (BA, 2015). Upon graduating, Eleanor was awarded the Sarabande Emerging Artist Fund (2022) and an ACME studio award (2015) and has gone on to exhibit and undertake residencies nationally and internationally. Eleanor is an Ingram Prize Finalist (2025) and is a recipient of Freelands Foundation funding (2025).  Solo presentations include the 20th Solo Residency award (2022) at Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop, London. Recent works can be found at Hypha Curates.  Full CV available on request.
